Gee, please post this immediately I feel terrible my illness is nothing compared to leukemia even though it is tragic but I still feel blessed and I would stay with a leaking roof than ask for funds that would benefit someone with an illness like Jimmy's. LOVE you Jimmy.

Update on Shareeka: She was recently released from the hospital and has returned to her JBF apartment in Houston. We're told that her father will be bringing her two-year-old son, Kami, for a much needed and long-overdue visit this weekend. (It's been about three months since she's seen him.) Here's wishing Shareeka and her family all the best!!!

My health progress is excellent and my doctor is satisfied with it. She told me that I could join with my son in the town where he will go to school. We will be moving out of the apartment on August 18.
We want to tell you that your services and support are awesome and even the best we ever had. That is why my health is getting recovery so fast. Thank God for using your service and support to help my health so much. Thank you very much.
Steven James

Hello My name is Rose who is the mother of Frank Jackson age 21 who had a Bone Marrow transplant on May 31st. Frank is recovering from some difficulties from the transplant but all in all he is doing OK. Frank was diagnosed in June 05. He was a student at Xavier-New Orleans, majoring in Biology. He has hopes of becoming a doctor. We would like to let the JBF know just how much we appreciate the help they have given us. We have been at the housing for about 2-weeks now and feel so blessed and so comfortable there. The apartment is so beautiful. Every time we come back home from the hospital we count our blessings. Thank you so much. We will always keep you all in our prayers. It takes special people like you to help us get through all the ruff times. You all will never be forgotten for what you are doing for us.

Good news on two of our JBF residents. Steven James was recently discharged from the hospital and his blood counts are reportedly improving steadily. He's got about 60 more days to go in his 100-day post transplant phase. Shareeka Hill was discharged July 6th from MD Anderson and has joined her mother in The Jimmy Burns House we provided them. We wish both Steven and Shareeka a speedy recovery and ask all JBF supporters to continue to keep them and their families in your prayers.

My name is Emily McWhorter, and I am an Elementary Education major at the University of North Texas. In addition to being a full-time student, I have been battling Hodgkins Lymphoma since my diagnosis in February 2003. I learned in January 2005, my cancer had returned for the third time. I was referred to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, a hospital over 300 miles away from home. The next phase of treatment included three months of chemotherapy sessions and an allogenic bone marrow transplant, which required a minimum of three additional months of therapy. My family was overwhelmed with the idea of locating additional housing arrangements in a foreign city. With the support of friends and family, they shared our story of housing needs via e-mail with their neighbors and co-workers. My neighbor, Francine Coulter, organized a chain and it fell into the hands of an angel, Jeanne Gibbons, who works for CWS Corporate Housing. Quickly named my Apartment Angels, Mrs. Gibbons, Mrs. Tracy Hayes, and the generous company offered my family a beautiful, fully-furnished, one bedroom apartment complete with numerous extras at no cost to my family! The Jimmy Burns Foundation heard of my story and so graciously agreed to also contribute to providing my family with the apartment. With medical bills dating back three years, my family would have not been able to afford such a luxurious apartment to reside in during the long months of treatment. M.D. Anderson has only a limited number of resources for patients. However, CWS and the Jimmy Burns Foundation eliminated the financial burden from my family and provided us with a safe apartment where I was comfortable and able to relax and recover after long, strenuous days in the hospital. Without my Apartment Angels and their wonderful generosity, I believe that I would not have recovered as quickly. They will always hold a special place in my heart, as well as the memories of my home away from home. Thank...

Many thanks to all who attended and supported the 2nd annual tailgate party Saturday at Loyola. Like last year, it was a beautiful day, the Ramblers were easy victors, and hundreds of Jimmy's nearest and dearest gathered to honor the memory of "good ol' #33". The BC Players rocked the house with their rendition of "The Seeker" by The Who. The beer was cold, and the wingy's were delicious. "Jimmy likey wingy." Please check back on the website for more results of this event and other new and exciting JBF news.
